Received higher education at the Moscow Institute for Building and Engineering, in 1990 he graduated from the International School of Business of the Moscow State Institute for International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1991 he studied at the Center for Social-Cultural Research, then continued his education in Stockholm, where he studied Cultural Politics in the Swedish Institute for Culture.

 

Igor Gurevich started his manager’s career with taking part in organizing the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980;

 

In 1986-1987 while working in GOSCONCERT he organized tours of foreign artists to the USSR and Soviet artists’ tours abroad, produced a number of large concerts on the leading stages of Moscow, St.Petersburg, Riga, Tallinn, Tashkent - the Kremlin Palace of Congresses, Column Hall of the House of Unions, "Rossia" Concert Hall, Saint Petersburg Sports and Concert Complex, Grand Concert Hall "Oktiabrsky" are among them.

 

On the eve of the FIFA World Cup in Italy in 1990, Igor Gurevich was appointed as the main producer of the Days of Italian Culture and the Days of Lombardy in Moscow.

 

In 1987 he was invited to work at the Ministry of Culture of the USSR. First he worked as a chief consultant of the Festivals Administration, then as a head of the Tour Management Department. Igor also took an active part in organizing the festival “USSR - India”, in which he managed tours for more than 3 thousand performers, including the performers from Bolshoi and Mariinsky theaters.

 

In 1991, he headed the Directorate of Programs of the International Cultural Center of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, and since 1992 he has been a member of the organizing committees of various international festivals and competitions held in Russia, Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, Holland, Sweden, France and the USA.

 

Since 1991, Igor Gurevich represented the USSR, and then Russia in FIDOF (International Federation of Festival Organizations) at UNESCO. He was actively engaged in the promotion of the festival movement in Russia as well as in the development of cultural contacts with many foreign countries, including France, Spain, Italy, China, Portugal, Switzerland, Argentina, Mexico and the USA.

 

He took part in the management of the First Festival of Democratic Russia in the USA in 1993.

 

In 1993, he founded and headed the Russian National Agency for International Festivals (ROSINTERFEST). He produced a number of TV programs and participated in scriptwriting for them.

 

Igor Gurevich arranged and held the anniversary gala concerts of Maya Plisetskaya in the Bolshoi and Mariinsky theaters. He is also the author of the album “Maya. Poetic portrait " that is about the art of dance of Maya Plisetskaya.

 

In 1998, by decision of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, he was appointed a head of the Russian cultural program at the World EXPO-98 in Portugal.

 

Igor is a founder, producer and chief director of the World Youth Music Forum and the "Orchestra of the World " concerts with maestro Valery Gergiev on the Red Square.

 

During the Balkan crisis he organized the “Friendship Tour” of the international “Philharmonic of Nations” with a peacekeeping mission.

 

He took an active part in events management for the 850th anniversary of Moscow, and was awarded a commemorative medal and diploma of the Mayor of Moscow.

 

Since 1997, Igor Gurevich has been the executive director of the “Russian-American Cultural Initiative”, as well as of the Russian-American Youth Orchestra chaired by the first ladies of Russia and the United States.

 

Under his leadership, the leading orchestras of the world were touring, including the German Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (London) conducted by such venerable maestros as I. Menuhin, C. Abbado, V. Ashkenazi, M. Plassona, etc.

 

Together with the Bolshoi Theater management team he organized the large-scale tours of the world's leading opera theatres, including the Milan La Scala Opera and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

 

He was the manager of the world's leading jazz performers tours, such as Ray Charles and Chick Corea; he also produced the gala concert with José Carreras, Placido Domingo, Emma Shaplin and Sissel; Sarah Brightman's concert and a tour of leading ballet companies, including the American Ballet Theater, the New York City Ballet.

 

He arranged many interstate cultural programs as well as the Moscow Government programs, festivals of Russian culture and Moscow days in a number of countries, including China, Turkey, Portugal, and the USA.

 

Igor Gurevich is the owner of the American "Golden Disc" and a diploma for "Outstanding Contributions to International Society ". He was also awarded UNESCO diplomas, various certificates and badges of honor.
